“How about inviting all the children we have been working with over the last ten years to an anniversary show?” We knew that organizing such an event in less than a month was a huge undertaking, but we felt this could be a worthy special event and celebration for the 400 children we have known and worked with over the years.

One of our friends working in a kindergarten knew the director of Ion Creanga Theater. She worked out an appointment with him. After hearing about our project, he offered the use of the theater free of charge for the date that we proposed, in spite of the busy theater schedule. We invited all the institutions that we had been working closely with for the last ten years to the show, asking them to come prepared with a couple of Christmas songs for the program. They all happily accepted.

The day of the show came and almost 400 children, teachers, and other guests filled the hall. Without any stage rehearsal, each of the teams from the institutions that were invited presented beautiful Christmas programs of traditional Romanian carols, dances, and skits, joined by singers from the Family International. One of the technicians, moved by the spirit of the evening, asked how many times the teams practiced together so the show would flow so smoothly!

The presents and the buffet that followed brought joy to everyone, and truly made this evening a complete Christmas gift from our hearts to these many dear children! A big thank you to all the Family volunteers who participated in the event by helping us to distribute the presents and the food and, of course, to all the dear friends who made this project a reality!
